Motivation for Sustainable Exercise

If there was one thing I found most difficult to stick to consistently, it was regular exercise. How about you? I talk in my book about the importance of increasing our activity to raise our heart rate, three to four times a week. I also talk about the 'Stickability' factor but one thing I haven't mentioned is working with our biorhythms.

So let's examine what I mean. Have you ever tried to go to a gym or increase your activity after work or later in an evening? How about 6am in the morning? I can almost hear the shouts of 'No Way' from here! Believe it or not the time of day you set aside for extra physical activity has a huge impact on how you manage to stick to it.

We all have an inbuilt mechanism that regulates the flow of energy in our body. At certain hours of the day there is more energy available to us than at other times. This is due to our personal biorhythm. If we are in tune with it and working to its rhythm, whatever we do will flow more easily and be more enjoyable. Work against your biorhythm and you will always struggle.

For me, my optimum time to exercise is 6am. This is when I am full of energy. Undertaking an activity at that time of day seems to set me up for a positive start. I feel more energetic and find that my mind rarely wanders to thinking about food. When there is an opportunity to get more active during the day I find myself feeling more enthusiastic and resist resistant the 'call to get physical'.

But that is my biorhythm. Yours may very well be quite different. So how do you regulate your increased physical activity to your biorhythm?

1. Take note as to what parts of the day you feel most energetic.

2. If you don't feel you have much energy then note what parts of the day you feel most energised after physical activity

3. Find friends who have the same biorhythms and support each others activity motivation

If you haven't thought about it before, give it a go and see your commitment levels improve.

A Customer's Review of Jonathan Manske's Book, the Law of Attraction Made Simple

I have been studying the law of attraction for quite some time now and find the concept absolutely extraordinary. There is no denying the forces of this law when you look at instances in your life or things you have acquired. I have many examples in my own life of the law of attraction in action and every time I reflect upon those things I realize the power of the infinite as well as the power of myself.

While I have manifested many wants and desires in my life there are still things that have fallen short. Therefore, I am always seeking out new resources to better my skill of attraction and to help others who want to master the creation process of their own life as well.

Not to long ago I came across a video interview of Jonathan Manske in which he spoke of his book The Law of Attraction Made Simple. I was intrigued and for the nominal price of $27 I felt it could be a good resource for me.

After spending only a day and half reading it from cover to cover I concluded that it was one of the best books I had read when it came to utilizing applicable strategies to create your desires. The law of attraction is powerful, but unfortunately most of us just go through life blindly attracting things, wanted and unwanted.

Jonathan gives you a step by step process to truly master your creation and clear out any blockages you may have. I found this part to be exceptionally useful and I use the techniques taught in the book on a daily basis. Jonathan gives you, what I call, a blueprint to the law of attraction with real strategic exercises to perform through out your day.

Thank you, Jonathan, for writing such an educational tool for the betterment of society.

You can order your copy of Jonathan Manske's book at http://www.jonathanmanske.com

I am no way associated with the income of this book. I simply am a happy customer

Feng Shui Tips For Renovating Your Home - Part 1

As many of you may know by now, a big part of achieving good feng shui is to have a healthy flow of Chi or energy in your home. Here are some great tips on how to renovate your home for good feng shui.

Rooms should be spacious and airy, while the corridors of your home should be wide and unrestricted. If you find that any of the rooms are too cramped or tight, an extension of the room to make it more spacious will be very beneficial. If you have long corridors in your home, make sure that it is wide enough so that the residents do not feel the length of the corridor. A long and narrow corridor is extremely bad feng shui, as it resembles a poison arrow, which emits a lot of shar-chi or "killing energy".

Many homes built today have irregular shapes. Therefore when you are trying to determine the auspicious directions, you may realize that your house has missing corners. Squares and rectangles are the best shapes for a house. If you find that your east sector of your house is missing, a house extension in the east will be beneficial.

The staircases of your home should be wide and gently curved. If the staircase is narrow with lots of sharp turns and corners, the flow of energy between the two floors will be restricted. The staircase should be a good conduit of Chi. Widening the staircase to create a more spacious and open feel will create excellent feng shui.

Important Barbecue Accessories

Who does not love barbecues? It is a staple food in almost any kind of gathering especially in children's parties. People coined the term barbecue parties to mean gathering in their backyards or in any parks and socializing while grilling delicious barbecues for everyone.

Having a barbecue grill is given. There are many different types. The most common is that powered on gas. A gas-powered grill should have a smoker box and side burner convenient in heating sauces. A drip tray makes after-cooking cleaning very easy.

There is also that which uses charcoal for grilling. It should have a tight fit lid. It should also have air vents to push flames upwards. But whatever kind of grill you use, the barbecue party will not be complete without important accessories within your reach.

First is a spatula. It is useful in turning over thin, soft and large meats, especially foods that easily break when turned over with tongs. It looks like a flattened rectangular spoon with a handle. It is often made of hard plastic or wood.

Next are the tongs. These are used to pick up or turn over meats. Avoid tongs with a sharp edge. Meat loses its juices and flavor when pierced.

A tong looks like a big pair if tweezers with a handle. If the two handles are squeezed together, the tong is able to hold the meat. Tongs can be used in place of bare hands for hygienic purposes also. It can be made out of plastic or metal. If you get a metal tong, be sure it has insulations in the handle.

Forks can also be used alternatively to tongs, but pricking meat will be unavoidable. It is not good to prick meat because it lets out the juice along with the flavors.

The rack usually comes with a hinged basket and a handle for holding meats. This is essential in preventing food from falling into the gaps of the grill.

A thermometer is only needed if you are cooking meat joint or thick meat. It indicates if meat is already medium, rare or well done.

A skewer set is helpful in cooking kebabs. It secures tiny vegetable and meat pieces. It also helps turn food easily.

Oven gloves protect hands from burns. Grills can be handled comfortably even when hot with these gloves.

A basting brush is used for marinating. Spread oils and sauces in your meat with this brush while grilling.

Mentioned above are accessories used directly in the grilling process. There are other accessories that indirectly help perfect your barbecue experience. For one, a table is important, where food will be served.

Chairs complete the dining setup. Choose plastic materials as these are lighter to carry around. Parasols give shade against the sun or rain. It also protects food from dirty elements. Outdoor lighting is important especially if barbecue session will be done at night.

Always practice safety measures when barbecuing. Never leave your grilling unattended. Keep children and pets in a safe distance from the barbecue.

Once the charcoal is lighted, never attempt on moving your barbecue. Make sure that the ashes or charcoal is already cold prior to cleaning your grill. Store your charcoal bags in a dry, cool place, far away from heat or flammable sources. Never light your barbecue inside your house or any confined space. Charcoal actually produces carbon monoxide, a poisonous substance to inhale, especially in high amounts. Make sure your barbecue firmly placed on top of a stable and flat surface.

Feng Shui Money Tips

Do you know where your financial "power spots" are? The contemporary methods of feng shui associate prosperity issues with the back left corner of any space. Stand at your front door facing into the house; your wealth area is at the back of the house on the left-hand side. There's also a wealth area within each room: facing in from the doorway, it's the corner area in the back of the room on the left-hand side. Where are the wealth areas within your office, living room, kitchen, and bedroom? Now that you've identified your money power spots, here are some quick and easy ways to apply feng shui to these spaces:

1. Clear out any clutter from these important areas. Clutter is a sign of stagnant energy, and clutter in your money power spots can clog up your cash flow. Getting rid of clutter is one of the most powerful ways to shift the energy of your power spots into high gear.

2. Fix things that are broken. Anything that doesn't work as it should is a sign of something wrong in the area of your life that corresponds to that part of your space. Examine each of your money power spots to look for anything that needs repair. It's time to do something about that loose doorknob, non-working light switch, stuck file drawer, or clock that doesn't keep correct time, to name just a few possible examples. Remove items like these from your power spots or fix them so they work properly.

3. Enhance your power spots with symbols of prosperity, such as a bowl of coins (add your loose change to it every day), a "lucky bamboo" plant, or anything that symbolizes success and prosperity to you. There are lots of Chinese luck symbols available, but you don't have to use them unless you want to. A picture of your dream house, or a model of that luxury car you long for, is an effective money symbol because it has personal meaning for you.

4. Accent your money areas with the colors green and purple. Green symbolizes vitality and growth, and purple is the color of wealth. Place a bowl of green and purple grapes (real or artificial) in the wealth area of your kitchen, to symbolize abundance filling your home. If you use real grapes, it's okay to eat them, just add more from time to time so the grapes remain fresh and the bowl is always more than half full.

5. Pay attention to how you handle money every day. Do you keep paper money neatly sorted in your wallet or money clip, or is it jammed in there any old way, or crumpled up at the bottom of your pocket? Clean the clutter out of your purse and wallet, and start handling your money as though you value it.

6. If you neglect your money, it will neglect you, so be sure to balance your checkbook regularly and pay your bills on time. Put your checkbook in an attractive cover (choose green, purple, red, blue, or black) and keep it in the wealth area of your desk - that's the rear left corner again -- or in the wealth area of your office.

7. Live generously. Money is a form of energy, and it needs to flow through your life, not just into it. Hoarding and scrimping work against more coming in, while giving generously within your means makes space for even greater abundance. If you don't yet have ample money to share, give as generously as you can of your time, energy, compassion, and appreciation.

8. Take a few moments every evening to think about all the good things that happened to you today and to express your gratitude for what you have received. Small things count, too, so it's okay if there's little of the spectacular on your list most of the time. It's not what happened that's important; it's getting in the habit of focusing on the positive side of things every day that matters. The more you notice, appreciate, and express gratitude for blessings received, no matter how small, the more good things will come your way, including money.

A true experience of prosperity is determined not by how much money you have, but by how well you notice and enjoy what is already present in your life. The formal name for the wealth area is "fortunate blessings" - as you de-clutter, repair, and accessorize your money power spots keep this broader meaning in mind. When you celebrate being rich in friends and family, or rich with laughter, or the richness of your spiritual life, or even being rich in air and sunshine if nothing else seems to be going well for you today, material blessings will come to you more readily as well.

Enhancing Your Self-Image

Success is an inside job. Even if your body and mind are ready, willing, and able to learn and do whatever is necessary to get the job done, a negative self-image may stop you.

Although we create many outward images of ourselves-so we can interact with or impress others and sell our ideas or services-we only have one self-image. The way we view ourselves determines the level of success we attain in anything. To achieve more success, some parts of our sense of self will have to change.
Your inward impression of yourself controls much of what you create in your life. When someone says, "Good morning, how are you?" you probably answer, "Fine," regardless of any troubles you may be having. The image you project is often very different from your true sense of self.

Because your level of success and happiness is controlled by your interior self-image, you must try to ensure that your exterior image and your interior image are in sync. If you can't match your self-worth with your exterior image, your ability to achieve at the highest levels will be restricted.

Try this exercise. Put the palms of your hands together with the fingers aligned as if in prayer. These hands pressing gently together represent you. Now twist your wrists, keeping your hands together, until the back of your right hand is facing away from your face. The right hand with its back facing out is the side of you that you want and allow the world to see. In fact, you present it to the world all the time. You put your best foot forward. It is the side of you that is happy, fine, capable, reliable, strong, honest, trustworthy, caring, sensitive, and thoughtful. This is your positive side.

Your left hand is the one only you can see. It's the side of you that isn't so good. This is the side of you that's not strong, that is lonely or hurting, that has faults, is afraid, unhappy, easily angered, and not confident. This is your not-so-positive side.

Which side is the real you-the positive side or the not-so- positive side? The truth is, you are both. One side does not negate the other. Just because you have faults, failures, or insecurities doesn't negate the fact that you have strengths, wonderful attributes, and abilities to get things done. Yet most people tend to let their not-so- positive side reduce the strengths on the positive side. They focus on the not-so-good side of themselves, saying, "I know I'm a good person, but . . . ."

If the image you have of yourself consists of only undistinguished and unexceptional qualities-or all the things you are not-then your self-image is discrediting your positive attributes. You can be-and in fact are-both at the same time. For example, if you get a pimple on your nose, isn't that all you see when you look in the mirror? Even though the rest of your face is just fine, you worry about the one blemish. But your pimple does not negate the wonderfulness of all your other features.

You can choose to put the not-so-positive side into proper perspective by no longer making it your focus. Once you have the right perspective, you are free to see all the good things about yourself. You can see that you have a profusion of strengths and abilities.

When people operate from the not-sa-positive side, they give themselves negative labels, saying, "I don't really have what it takes," or 'Tm not cut out for this." Often these labels are not true, but if they are your truth, a negative self-image results and affects your confidence, performance, and happiness.

To better understand how both sides are valuable to you, try another exercise. Put your hands in front of your chest, as if praying. Press them together as hard as you can, having someone hold your wrists at the same time. Now have them quickly pull your hands apart, moving one hand toward yourself and the other toward your partner. No matter how strong you are, or how hard you try, you will not be able to keep your hands together. Just as you are weak in trying to hold your hands together, you will be weakened if you consider your inner and outer selves as two separate beings.

Try this exercise again, this time interlocking your fingers. In this position, your hands cannot be pulled apart-you are strong now. As you can see, our weaknesses can actually make us stronger. Weaknesses tend to make us more humble and teachable. If you can believe that a weakness is truly a gift from God, then you must also believe that God will show you your weakness and make it your strength.

As a child, my weakness was my cowardice. That weakness prompted me to excel at karate. My lack of self-esteem as a young boy living on the Navajo reservation was one reason I decided to become a professional speaker and help others-so I could feel better about myself. My weaknesses have made me stronger.

If you are prone to take charge of a job and do it well, you are most likely driven by a weakness. This weakness could be a feeling of inferiority that makes you go out of your way to do well. Your feelings of inadequacy may cause you to be a top performer. In order to control the outcome, you have to take charge. Perhaps you have a need to be noticed, praised, or acknowledged that causes you to excel.

I know many people who appear to be very strong-they look and act like confident, make-it-happen, take-charge people. They get the job done, reach out to others, and are there to help whenever they can. Many are known for their caring hearts. But if they stop helping others, they feel empty and much of their joy goes away. On the surface, they seem fine, but inside they just aren't happy. For these people, helping others is like getting an emotional fix. They must help others to feel okay inside.

When I ask, "Who takes care of you?" I frequently hear, "No one." Such people feel lonely and are either unaware of their need to be taken care of or try to ignore it and meet their needs by helping others. Often the reason they reach out to others is because they know how bad it feels not to be taken care of. Because of our weaknesses-or needs-we feel powerful or compassionate, but we can still be left searching for our own happiness. When we are just givers, our own emotional resources quickly become drained.

Undines - Nature Spirits of the Water

According to legends around the world, an undine is a water nymph or water spirit. Undines can be found in any type of body of water, particularly forest pools and waterfalls. They are said to have beautiful voices, which are sometimes heard over the sound of the water. In Scotland, undines are referred to as wraiths of the water.

According to some folklore traditions, undines can take human form, thereby losing their immortality but gaining a soul. This misleading notion has led them to be a popular motif in romantic and tragic literature. Undines are sometimes referred to as nixes, nasty water sprites with mean temperaments. This is another unfortunate characterization of undines. Likewise, undines are often confused with mermaids and sea goddesses.

Paracelsus, a Swiss philosopher of the 15th century, believed that undines and other nature spirits occupied a realm between that of humans and spirit. Although they resemble man in physical form, they are more akin to the spirit realm in their abilities.

They are actually one of the four main types of nature spirits: gnomes (earth element), sylphs (air element), undines (water element) and fiery salamanders (fire element). Since water is critical for human life and all life on the earth, undines understandably play a significant role in mythology and esoteric traditions.

Undines, along with other nature spirits, are guardians of the earth. Undines are under the direction of their hierarchs, Neptune and Luara. Undines are particularly involved in clearing bodies of water of pollution and other chemical hazards. Undines play an important role in the spiritual world and in the maintenance of the balance and purity of the physical platform of the earth for mankind's evolution.

Clearing a Space For You!

This time of the year is full of renewal, rebirth, growth, development, restoration, and cleansing. Along with the rest of nature, you tend to feel vibrant and inspired to clear things out and get a new start. It is a great time to clear away the past and plant new seeds for your life!

Here are a few easy ways to meet your cleansing needs:

The Space Within You

Fuel up! Think about creating your own cleansing experience to get rid of excess waste. Take advantage of all the great whole foods during this season. Add more fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds to your eating plan.

Express yourself. Journaling can help you know your Self and learn how to express your truth. You don't have to write a novel. A few words can go a long way and set you on the path to self-discovery.

Start exercising. Physical activities allow the body to sweat and rid itself of toxins. Movement will help clear your mind and focus on creating your life.

The Space You Are In

Surround yourself with beautiful things. Create a beautiful space with your new favorite color of the season. Spread some nature throughout your home with plants and flowers. Open up your blinds and let the sun shine in!

Clean out those closets. Remove things in your house or storage that you do not need. Keep the items that bring you joy and happiness.

Have a party! Encourage your loved ones to join you in celebrating renewal and growth. Share your desires, needs, and intentions. Cultivate an environment that is supporting and loving.

Like health, cleansing is not exclusively about how you eat, it's also about how you live! This is just a start.

What else can you do to renew yourself this season?

A Spiritual Check-up

Now is a great time for a self check-up. The new year is here and you have probably renewed your resolutions from last year. Why settle for failed resolutions again when you can have guaranteed results. The results I'm talking about are the ones that will take you to the next level of performance, promise and purpose.

Not another year of disappointment, defeat and disillusionment.

This is not a physical or mental check-up, it is a check of your spiritual man to make sure that you are prospering eternally and externally in accordance to the promises and purpose of God.

Let's begin our spiritual check up by inspecting our fruit, this will be a major indicator of what is going great and where we need to change.

Then we'll look at how we can increase our efforts to get even better results throughout the year. Followed by identifying strategies to increase our fortitude, the inner strength we'll need to complete the journey we have before us.

God has assembled each of us here for his purpose and cause, in this specific time period and particular place. This cause is bigger than just your needs.

We should be sharing/sowing fruit daily, spurring each other towards love and good deeds. Some of our fruit are peace, love and forgiveness. The areas of life that we are responsible for sharing and showing others.

These are the tools that we have at our disposal to build bridges from us to other people so that God can come across.

If you harbor prejudice, hatred or have not forgiven someone then you are unable to bear fruit and you stand where you are today, because you have failed to fulfill your spiritual purpose and you should take a deeper look inside yourself, to determine why you are not progressing in this important area of life.

Having a brilliant career and a great personal life will seem unimportant if they are centered around emotional indulgence instead of spiritual progress.

How can one change their spiritual condition or situation?

First, let me warn you, that you can't reach any level of true spirituality without obeying the first tenet, which requires that you must be born again. Not just a mere spring cleaning but a rebuilding of the whole house.

Then it takes consistent and regular habits of prayer and meditation. I'm not talking about the habit that some have become accustomed too of pronouncing affirmations once or twice as if they were a magical incantation.

Could you practice on the piano occasionally and yet expect to be able to play well on any desired occasion?

To strengthen your spirit you need to build up a faithful daily habit of prayer and begin exercising a true love-consciousness, then the rest of the spiritual development will follow after that.

Some people pray only when they are in trouble or on their Sabbath and then, they find it hard to get any sort of meaningful results. Maybe you have heard the old adage, " little prayer, little power; much prayer, much power."

Sooner or later, through trouble or triumph, you will find the need to put God first in your life, but it must be the first thing. When this happens you will find that you have gotten rid of the mental junk that people try to carry around with them.

You'll spend less time pursuing material possessions and stuff, our artificial needs, things that don't really matter and only waste time and energy. Your life will become simpler and quieter, but spiritually richer and infinitely more worthwhile.

Forgive Everyone in Every Way

Forgive everyone, everyday, and in every way. Each person is doing the best he or she can. No one, absolutely no one is perfect. Since no one is perfect, this means that we all need to share more patience and more understanding surrounding all aspects of our interactions with one another. Think of the last time you needed to forgive someone. And, think of the last time you needed to be forgiven. When we need to be forgiven, there is a feeling of lack or something as missing. When we need to forgive, we often feel anger. Anger is a secondary emotion for loss. When we lose something, the need to restore what was lost. This sends us on a search within ourselves for attention in a peace filled direction. If you noticed, to forgive or to be forgiven leads you to the same place. Both paths of awareness lead us on a search. What are you searching for? You are searching to find wholeness. What is wholeness? This is often one's perception of reality created by what one believes to be true. This creation of what one believes to be true is the path of one's soul seeking manifestation in the world of form from the formless.

There is no set way to wholeness. Simply being aware that you have a self-defined understanding of wholeness that is within you is what we simply need to give attention to within us. This continued attention on what we seek the most within us will grow in our awareness until the need to place our attention on forgiveness fades away.

If a person was to believe that forgiveness is something obtained through the human psyche alone, we all would find the journey into such a place within us as something to avoid. In the deepest parts of who we are, we want to connect to what is sacred within us. Therefore, to re-create a past interaction with someone who we feel we harmed or who we feel harmed us is a useless attempt to embrace what cannot be. This is not to say that certain relationships close to us do not need verbal efforts to make up for a past action leading to harm. In fact, a person can find this useful, and even, helpful. The point I want to make is the place one's attention may be at the time such a verbal interaction will become vital in the success of such expressions taking place.

Dying patients remind me that there are countless times in all our lives where the issue of forgiveness was perceived and we become aware of it. There is no way a dying person can retrieve all their past life experiences in physical form, but we can recall these moments in time and visualize how we would have handled them differently. This is our soul seeking to make right a wrong our personality may not allow us to do, or it may no longer be feasible to take place in our current circumstances. People are such a vast array of experiences. There are endless paths of attention within us calling for our attention. Perhaps, the instant we remember who we are and who others are in the deepest parts of our being, we begin to remember the love that brings all our lives together, and into, being. This remembrance of who we are as children of our Creator reminds us of the unconditional spirit reflected within our own selves. The transcendence of flesh and blood inspires us to give our Creator our lives, the lives of others, and our very reason for living into the hands that created us.

You Don't Become a Wicca, You Either Are Or Are Not

There is a major growth in today's society for older religions, this includes people who want to become a Wicca. First of all, people need to understand that you do not become a Wicca, no more than you become a doctor and an engineer. Sure, there are signs of progress, and as a doctor or an engineer you get a piece of paper, however, that doesn't make you a doctor or an engineer.

As I said you do not become a Wicca. I am sure this raises some degree of curiosity and confusion. If I don't become a Wicca, then why do people call themselves such? See, it's not about becoming as much as it's about being. You don't become a Wicca, you are one.

I learned this a long time ago when I was studying the martial art of Ninjutsu, and it carried over as I began practicing witchcraft. As I gained belt after belt, I wondered at what point I would be a ninja. I couldn't wait to tell people I was a ninja. Once I earned my black belt, I wondered if I was now a ninja. I asked my teacher and his only response was, "you will know."

Eventually I came to understand that I can't become a ninja. It is something I am or am not. It wasn't about becoming, it was about being a ninja. The same is true when talking about how to become a Wicca. I now live, day to day, the way of the ninja. I use the philosophy and strategies I learned as I trained to live my life on a daily basis. The same is true for my spiritual practices.

Black Homeowners Guide To Going Green and Saving Greenbacks!

We'll have to wean Ourselves from wasting things, By thinking more efficiently we can save money effectively Yes, that's the key to thinking green. -- Primm

What does it mean to go green? Unless you live on the planet Mars you hear it everywhere. On the news, on college campuses, from government officials, even in car commercials. I even heard a rap song about going green.

The Going Green Movement has spawned a whole new language with words like Greenhouse Gases, Closed Loop Recycling and everyone's favorite Global Warming. Plus a host of other terms too many to mention here.

What does it all mean? The Going Green movement, popularized by former Vice President Al Gore, is performing actions that work to save the environment. For example, recycling, using low-energy appliances, conserving water and a host of other actions people can take.

Yes, Eco- friendly homes are the new trend today, whether you're a home builder or a home buyer. Because it not only works to help save the planet but it's a dependable way to save money. The U.S government is even paying people who own homes to go greener in the form of tax breaks and tax credits.

In this week's newsletter I'll give you simple but effective tips to helping your household go green. But most important show not only how to go green but how to save some green ... as in money.

Here are 5 Tips To Help Your Home Go Green and Save Some Green.

1. Install Low Energy Light Bulbs.

A quick and easy way to start turning your home green and saving the green is by installing energy efficient light bulbs in your home.

Energy efficient light bulbs technical name is Compact Fluorescent lights or CFL's for short. These light bulbs use one-third the electrical energy of old fashion incandescent light bulbs. In addition, they can last up to 10 times longer. This is instant money savings. Can you say Ka-ching?

2. Trade Thirsty Plants and Landscaping for Drought or Low Maintenance Plants.

Low maintenance plants and landscaping will not only save your home energy cost; it can also save your energy.

Imaging having beautiful landscaping without the hassle of watering, weeding and pampering it on your precious days off. All it takes is a little thought and a little planning.

For example, use plants that are native to your area of the country. Why? Because they're easier to grow and maintain - plus they'll use less water.

Pick landscaping that adapts with the climate and soil conditions in your area. The best way to do this is to consult with your local nurseries.

3. Use More Natural Products to Decorate Your Home Instead of Manufactured Products.

When decorating your home think water saving shower heads, toilets and faucets.

When decorating think natural woods like bamboo, teak and other woods that grow fast.

For example, think African Decor. Because many of the woods used come from trees that grow fast and plentiful.

4. Let Your Uncle Sam Pay You To Go Green.

You can receive Home Energy Efficiency Improvement Tax Credits. According to the U.S Department of Energy, consumers who purchase and install specific products, such as energy-efficient windows, insulation, doors, roofs, and heating and cooling equipment in the home can receive a tax credit of up to $500 beginning in January 2006.

The EPACT (The Energy Policy Act of 2005).

This Federal law provides a credit equal to 30% of qualifying expenditures. For purchase of qualified photo voltaic property and for solar water heating property used exclusively for purposes other than heating swimming pools and hot tubs.

The credit shall not exceed $2000.

Improvements must be installed in or on the taxpayer's principal residence in the United States. Home improvement tax credits apply for improvements made between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2007. -U.S Department of Energy

5. Decorate With More Plants Instead of Plastics.

EPA studies confirm indoor air pollution affects more people than outdoor pollutions. Because of low air circulation indoors and the number of manufactured products such as plastics, glues and paint located inside homes, indoor air pollutions continue as a growing threat. Especially to the many African Americans who suffer from respiratory ailments such as asthma, sinus problems and other allergies.

Natural plants not only work to beautify your decor they have also proven to fight indoor air pollutants. Certain plants help to clear pollutants such as dust, chemicals and allergens from the air. For more details on this subject Click Here!

Yes, thinking green can save you green in and around your home. I encourage you to continue to educate yourself on how you can think green. It's easy once you start the habit of thinking green. You'll suddenly see how you're saving money, saving your time and saving the environment so our children can enjoy it too.

Savings Allocation

First of all, I would like to define what do I mean by the word "Savings".

In plain english and simpler terms, Savings means money saved or left with us after taken care of

living expenses, bill payments, taxes, loan installment payments and any other important outgos from earnings.

I have allocated my savings amount in following proportion:

1. Bank accounts...15%
2. Tax Savings Mutual Funds (Lock-in 3 years)...20%
3. Public Provident Fund (P.P.F.)...25%
4. Diversified Equity Mutual Funds...10%
5. Fixed Deposits Lock-in 1year)...10%
6. ULIP (Unit Linked Insurance Plan)...10%
7. Immediate Money (Cash for urgency, Physical Gold etc.)...10%

My Investment Strategy:

Identify top 5 (consistent over last 3 years) mutual funds in each category mentioned above and spread money across them in given percentage values respectively to minimise risks even further. Then Invest Fixed Deposit money in top 3 national banks giving good FD (fixed deposit) returns for last 5 yrs.

I would like to share my personal experience with you all:

Always Keep in mind one thing: "Try and Learn to save at least 5 to 10% of your earnings each year."

What Makes a "Green" Home?

While "green" has become quite the buzzword when it comes to home building and design, what exactly it means isn't always clear. There are a few standards for eco-friendly homes, but the term "green" doesn't have a universal definition beyond being a color made by mixing yellow and blue. So how does a consumer know when a home the builder is calling "green" is actually built with an ecological focus, or at least enough of one to justify its price?

Some of the standards for ecologically minded homes include increased insulation. To be really energy efficient, a home should be insulated beyond the minimum local requirements. This includes floor insulation, which in some cases is built right in to the concrete foundation. In addition to the walls, floors and ceilings, windows should also be insulating. Therefore, double paned and/or vinyl windows are becoming the "green" standard.

Energy efficiency should be continued throughout the home. Low water use toilets are a must, and those that have different flush options are extra eco-concious. These options allow you to have a more efficient flush for solid waste, while liquid waste just gets much more conservative flush. Shower heads, washing machines, faucets and dishwashers can also be equipped to limit the water used without compromising function. Air conditioners, refrigerators, heaters and all other appliances within the home should be of the highest standard of energy efficiency. In addition, compact fluorescent lights should be used throughout the home, or replaced by LED lights wherever those are suitable.

Beyond energy efficiency, use of non-toxic, ar at least less-toxic, materials is important in "green" homes. Look for a home with low VOC paints. VOC stands for volatile organic compounds, which are toxins that gas-off from conventional paint. Remember the lighter the pigment, the lower the VOC's, so white or off-white walls are healthier than some of the bolder, trendy colors. This is because it is the paint base that is quality controlled, but it is impossible to take the VOC's out of some pigments.

Another finishing detail that is popular for eco-friendly homes is bamboo or cork flooring. Bamboo is popular because it grows so quickly. It takes about five years to grow bamboo to the right size to make flooring. It is versatile and comes in a variety of styles and colors. Cork is an option because it is sustainable to harvest - removing cork does not damage the cork tree, as it replenishes its cork bark every year anyway. Cork makes a lovely, soft and springy floor surface that is also naturally warmer than many other flooring options.

For our final indoor consideration, eco-friendly homes will use more natural fabrics such as wool and cotton for carpets and window dressings.

Outside the home leaves plenty of room for "green" considerations, too. Xeriscaping is a popular means of landscaping utilizing plants native to the area being built in. These plants are naturally drought-resistant because they are acclimatized to the local environment, needing less watering and maintenance than lawns or beds full of foreign flowers.

Another "green" outdoor trend is utilizing permeable paving stones. These actually absorb water, which then is naturally filtered through the earth and goes back into the ground-water supply. These avoid the toxic run-off that can be caused by water rushing over cement and into drains, carrying oil and exhaust residue straight into the drainage system, which ultimately ends up being a nearby body of water.

If a home you are looking at is being promoted as being "green", don't hesitate to ask the builder about some of these features. If they don't measure up, don't buy it.

Five Eco-Friendly Heating Helpers

Here are five eco-friendly ideas to help you get the most bang for your heating buck.

1. Say No to Your Fireplace
There's nothing like a fireplace to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. It's also the most inefficient way to heat your home. Consider yourself lucky if your fireplace provides slightly more heat than it sucks out of your house.

A fireplace insert, however, will transform your fireplace's inefficient ways into a 70-80% efficient heating appliance. Various models of fireplace inserts are available to match your fuel preference: wood or BioBricks for wood stove inserts, or wood pellets or corn for pellet inserts.

2. High Efficiency Wood Stoves and Fireplace Inserts
New wood stoves and fireplace inserts equipped with a baffle system in the firebox are just as clean and efficient (75%) as catalytic combustor stoves but don't require replacing the combustor every few years at a cost of $150.

3. The Pellet Stove Alternative
Pellet stoves are the free standing version of a fireplace insert but burn only corn or wood pellets. The recent introduction of multi-fuel stoves offers homeowners the choice of burning corn or wood pellets; whichever is cheaper. No matter how high the price of heating oil,

One major difference between wood and pellet stoves is the pellet stove needs a fan to distribute the heat, while a wood stove naturally radiates the heat outwards. One requires electricity, the other doesn't. If you buy a pellet stove, and your neighborhood is subject to frequent or extended winter power outages, you should have a backup battery system to run the fan.

4. Turn Your Thermostat Down in the Winter and Up in the Summer
The U.S. Department of Energy estimates households can save 10 percent a year on heating and cooling bills by turning the thermostat back 10 or 15 degrees for eight hours in the winter or up by the same amount during the summer. A programmable thermostat will enhance your savings and comfort by automatically turning your furnace or air conditioner on and off according to scheduled home or office arrivals and departures.

5. Weatherize Your House
You might not think those small cracks and crevices around your doors and windows are a big deal, but a 1/8" space between a standard exterior door and its threshold is equivalent to a two square inch hole in the wall. Closing those gaps can save up to 15 percent in heating and cooling costs and reduces demand on heating and cooling systems. Weatherizing your home should take only a day and you'll be rewarded with energy savings for years to come.

Wind Generated Power - An Alternate Source of Energy That Helps Save Your Money and the Earth

Wind generated power is being used from ages past. In the past it was used in flour mills and even to pump water. But we have realized the power that wind has in it and it is this power that can be used as an alternative source for electricity. With the depleting levels of fossil fuels and the increasing rates for electricity it is high time we decide on using such alternative forms of energy.

Not only are we going to save money, but we are saving the earth too. With nuclear energy being used as one of the sources for energy, the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere is growing to such high levels that the issue of global warming is catching everybody's attention. Is there a solution to all these problems? Well, the use of renewable sources of energy like the sun light, the wind generated power etc are sure fire solutions that do work.

If you want to install such a unit for wind generated power and if you find the rates of installing one, you will sure find atrocious prices. The best way to go about this is to use the resources that are easily available in our homes and even in the nearby hardware stores and construct our own wind mill that results in wind generated power.

All you need to set up the instrument that gives you wind generated power is an installation guide and the right components. The most important consideration for this is the location where you will be building this. You need to make sure that the area has a free flowing current of wind most of the time. Selection of such areas will make sure that you have an efficient system that produces wind generated power to the maximum.

You can look up Earth4Energy for more details about wind generated power. The guide that is available is a storehouse of information that will guide you in the right manner to enable you to set up your system.

Instructions For Building Efficient Wind Generators For Your Home - Here Are the Easy DIY Blueprints

Traditional energy sources are on their way out. Fossil fuel costs are shooting up because we are running low on them, so we need to prepare for the future. We need to change the way we think about how we get our energy and how much we are using to change our lifestyles into sustainable lifestyles.

There are some people who have already started thinking this way. New scientific breakthroughs in renewable energy are allowing us to create sustainable energy at lower and lower costs. Using the right set of plans even homeowners who don't know anything about construction or electricity can build their own alternative energy sources right in their backyards, such as wind power generators.

Wind turbines can be made to reduce the average home's electricity bill by as much as 70%. They can be built, using economical plans, for as little as $200 using pre-used parts. The most expensive part might be a DC motor which can cost as little as $30. They can be built with basic tools and parts from a local hardware store. You can estimate the amount of power a generator creates using the following formula:

Power(Watts) = (Wind Speed)^3 * (Blade Diameter)^2 * 0.00478

The speed of the wind makes the most difference because its value is cubed, then the blade diameter because its value is squared. Example calculation using a decent wind speed of 10mph and an 8 ft blade diameter:

W = (10*10*10) * (8*8) * 0.00478 = 305 watts/hour - x 24 hours and you can calculate 7.3 kWh generated per day by a wind power generator.

On average, an American home might use 14-20 kWh per day. If you start conserving your power, you might use much less depending on the size of your home. Even with little wind speed in your area, you should be able to build a wind turbine that can significantly reduce your power bill for as little as $200. Wind power generators are cost-effective, to be sure.

Me and my colleagues have researched and reviewed 17 top blueprints that show you how to make wind power generators for your home inexpensively (but keeping top efficiency standards). See how to build wind turbines easily at RenewableEnergyAtHome.com.

Million Solar Roof Initiative - U.S. Department of Energy

The U.S. Department of Energy has been given a mission of reducing fossil fuel dependence and pollution in the country. Its answer is the Million Solar Roof Initiative.

Million Solar Roof Initiative U.S. Department of Energy

For the past 20 years, the Department of Energy has been trying to motivate private industry to go solar. This motivation, however, has primarily been in the form of providing free education on solar platforms and how to install them on homes, buildings and power plants. As you might imagine, private industry has been less than enthusiastic about such efforts, but all of that is starting to change.

Congress funds the Department of Energy and Congress is unhappy with the state of alternative energy sources. Further, the federal political monster is also starting to react to all the heat being generated internationally by our massive production of greenhouse gases. In reaction, the proverbial whip has been laid to the Department of Energy and renewable energy is the hot subject.

Greenhouse gases are produced by fossil fuels. The gases rise into the atmosphere and effectively act as insulation, which heats up the Earth. Rising temperatures are now melting glaciers throughout the world and are expected to start melting the polar ice caps. As this occurs, water levels will rise around the world and climatic changes are expected to be harsh. It is expected that the past hurricane season will be the least of our problems.

In pursing the Million Solar Roofs Initiative, the Department of Energy hopes to reduce the production of greenhouse gases. If a million solar platforms are put up, the pollutant savings will be equivalent to the emissions produced by over 800,000 cars each year.

To make the Million Solar Roofs Initiative viable, there has to be an economic component. Now there is. Congress has issued large tax credits for businesses and individuals that go solar. Rebate programs have also been initiated to help reduce the cost of purchasing a solar platform. Indeed, California just went forward with a 3.2 billion dollar rebate program on its own. Finally, the federal government is now providing solar platform loans as part of mortgage packages through entities such as Fannie Mae and FHA. Throw in concepts like net metering [selling power to utilities from your home or business], and going solar has never made so much sense.

After years of playing lip service to non-fossil fuel energy, the federal government finally is getting serious about the proposition. The Million Solar Roofs Initiative is one such step.

Energy Conservation Tips - Essentials of a Homemade Solar Panel

One important energy conservation tip is use of homemade solar panels to generate a clean, renewable, ecologically-friendly alternative energy source power household appliances. If you are interested in reducing dependence on fossil fuels while reducing your electricity costs this article can get you started on the path to a "greener" home.

Why solar panels? With the ever-present threat of Global Warming looming over our heads, clean and renewable energy is an appealing alternative to electricity generated from fossil fuels. Solar energy can reduce the monthly cost of electricity. It is a technology amenable to DIY projects.

Solar panels harness the power of sunlight to generate electricity through the use of photovoltaic (PV) cells. If money is no object, a contractor can be hired to obtain and install a solar system for you. For those of us in the "other" category, there are other less expensive options. These include purchasing solar panel kits, refurbishing used solar panels, and the ultimate DIY of making panels from component parts. Solar panels can create a more self-sufficient household, which meets all or a large portion of household electrical energy needs. The ideal scenario would have the electricity generated exceed the household needs permitting electricity to be sold back to the Grid.

Although the there are other component required for more complex systems, the basic elements of a homemade solar panel system include:
-Solar panel(s)
-Charge controller
-Battery
-Inverter

Solar panel - The fundamental and essential component of a solar energy system is the solar panel or panels, consisting of a series of PV cells, which are combined to generate an electrical current usable in real time. In the solar panel, PV cells are linked together to generate an electrical current which is the sum of the currents produced by each cell. The serious DIY can obtain PV cells, attach them to a plywood board, wire them together, and cover them with glass for protection. Buying a kit can provide the "less handy" of us with an option which is still less than hiring a contractor but much less cumbersome since the part all contained in the kit.

Charge controller or regulator - This unit controls the charging of the battery so as to prevent overcharging. It also tracks the battery discharge status during the evening. By doing this, the charge regulator maximizes the life of each battery, thereby maximizing the efficiency of your solar energy system.

Battery - The electricity not immediately used is stored by a battery or series of batteries. Deep-cycle or marine batteries are preferable to automobile batteries because they are capable of storing all or virtually all of the electricity generated by the solar panels, thus minimizing waste.

Inverter - Virtually all of our electrical appliances utilize AC or Alternating Current, whereas the electricity generated and stored in our solar powered system is DC or Direct Current. Therefore, the Inverter is the key to converting DC current into AC, creating electricity to power everything from your lights to the refrigerator.

If a solar panel system is designed with the intent of generating enough electricity to "sell back" to the Grid, then the components will include the AC Breaker Panel, and a Kilowatt-per-Hour Indicator. The KW per Hour indicator, for example, is necessary to track how much current is provided to and from the grid to determine the charge or credit that appears on your monthly electric bill.

As you consider what path you will take on your energy conservation quest, don't forget some of the least expensive and most cost-effective options such as Energy-Saver fluorescent light bulbs.

In summary, homemade solar panels can be an important part of a plan to implement energy conservation tips. Homemade solar panel systems for the DIY enthusiast can be obtained in kit form in which all of the components are readily available, or they can be obtained as new or used components from home improvement stores to eBay.

Solar and Wind Power-Green Living From Homemade Energy

Intelligent use of energy has become a great concern throughout the world with businesses and residences thinking alike. Many individuals have realized that Solar And Wind Power-Green Living From Homemade Energy is the way to go. What we do today will affect us for generations to come. We can continue using fossil fuels, which, if anyone has done any research on that knows that the energy source will become more costly, cause more pollution, and eventually, as it has already, become so unaffordable people are reaching for other alternatives for renewable energy.

One way to beat today's energy crisis is with solar power. In places that have this unlimited resource available, solar panels will convert the suns energy into electricity. Photovoltaic cells, or modules, are made of a special material such as silicon. Once the light strikes the material, a certain portion of the absorbed light is transferred to the silicon material which will create the electricity. This explanation given is very basic and there is much more to it than that, but I think you get the idea. A simple example would be a calculator of how it won't work when there isn't enough light or the screen is very hard to read.

In areas that are non-shady and have plenty of sun during the day, the energy can be stored and consumed later to run simple appliances and even power a whole house, depending on the system and the angle that the panel is placed etc. You can have companies that specialize come out and install a system for thousands of dollars or, if you want to save some of that hard earned cash, you can build your own for a fraction of the cost.

Think about this, educate yourself on Solar And Wind Power-Green Living From Homemade Energy, you can put money back into your pocket through Government incentives. For example, did you know if you purchase plans and build a wind generator or solar panels with Obama's home energy grant program you can be rewarded by the Federal Government by receiving funding to help with their plan on reducing our dependence on fossil fuels? This is one of their top agenda items for 2009. Depending on what you do, there has been reported funding of anywhere from $600-$2000! That's a lot of money!

For thousands of years, dating back to around 2000 B.C. the windmills were used to produce grain, and even as far back as 5500 years ago to propel sailboats, civilizations have been using the wind for many different uses. With the technology of today, wind generators can produce electricity and that electricity can be stored as well for consumption as a renewable energy source. When the wind blows through the blades, the blades turn a shaft and that shaft turns a generator which in turn produces electrical energy.

Wind farms are becoming more popular to utilize the kinetic energy of the wind to turn a wind turbine or generator for electricity. These large and very expensive wind generators help power cities and rural areas to lessen the costs of fossil fuels. Why wouldn't we want to utilize free energy instead of paying our power companies? Wind generators can produce electricity just like solar panels and can be installed from companies for a high dollar also. These wind turbines can be built on a smaller scale also by the average homeowner at a very reasonable cost and will produce energy to run just about anything or everything in your house, depending on the size that you build.

It is possible to generate enough from Solar And Wind Power-Green Living From Homemade Energy is simple and you could get the power company to buy back the energy that you don't use. So you see, with the energy from the sun and wind (free energy), incentives from the Government, the power company buying back power that you don't use, you really can't lose by going green. Until next time.

Conserving and utilizing what elements we have for free is where Green Living starts. Solar and Wind Power have great advantages over paying the power company. Would you like to become independent? Find Out More Here

Power Saving

Property owners are looking for more ways than ever to "DIY", tackling their own home improvement projects to save money and boost property values. One of the best projects doesn't require power tools and will have a huge impact - on your electric bill. Here are a few things you can do this weekend to save hundreds of dollars this year.

1) Compact fluorescent lights (CFL) - you might be tired of hearing about them but a 14-watt CFL is as bright as a 60-watt incandescent bulb, uses 75 percent less energy, and lasts ten times longer. A 4-pack costs under $10 but likely represents nearly $800 in lifetime savings.

2) Exterior lighting - If you can read book outside at night, you're probably wasting energy. Switch out 60 watt candelabra (mini) bulbs for 20 or 40-watt ones, and 60-watt standard bulbs with 14-watt CFLs.

3) Electric hot water heater - Does your hot water heater and pipes feel warm to the touch? Insulate them and cut power use up to 25 percent. Carefully wrap the copper hot water pipes with tubular polyethylene insulation or insulated pipe wrap ($6 for 25 feet). Water heater blankets go for around $20 and can be installed with duct tape and a pair of scissors. Just make sure you don't cover the access panels.

One day of sweat equity and a $50 investment could pay for itself within two months, and keep returning guaranteed savings for years to come. These days, that's even better than your IRA! This project can be done this weekend and before you know it, you will be saving a lot of money.

Small Business Energy - Going Green and Saving

If you own a small business, you know that profits depend upon two things: income and expenses. Energy costs can be a significant expense and many business owners are taking a new approach to energy to both lower their costs and move to a more sustainable green approach. With the right information you can improve your company's financial performance by reducing energy costs and energy waste while protecting the earth's environment.

Businesses need energy. Whether you are a tenant or you own your building, you typically need lighting; heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC); power for office equipment; and other services to stay in business. How can you create an energy plan? Here are some ideas.

Contact your utility company. Ask if they offer free or inexpensive energy audits and/or rebates for energy-efficiency upgrades. Undertaking a comprehensive energy efficiency program, with the assistance of a professional if needed, can yield impressive savings. A useful website is Energy Crossroads, created by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab), a member of the national laboratory system supported by the U.S. Department of Energy through its Office of Science. The site (http://eetd.lbl.gov/einfo-links.html) provides links to dozens of agencies that provide resources for energy conservation.

You can take action yourself. There are many reliable, high-return, low-risk, strategies that you can implement with little cost. Some are very simple, while others may take some investment.

LIGHTING

Turn off lights and other equipment when not in use. Even "vampire energy loss" from computers and equipment in passive or standby mode can account for significant energy loss.

Replace incandescent light bulbs with Energy Star compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), wherever appropriate. CFLs cost about 75% less to operate, and last about 10 times longer.

Adjust lighting to your actual needs and use free daylight.

Do not "over-light." Too much light can be counterproductive, and it costs a lot more.

Install switch plate occupancy sensors to automatically turn on lights when rooms are occupied, and off when people leave.

Upgrade fluorescent lamp units to T8 (1" diameter) tubes with solid-state electronic ballasts. These are more efficient than older T12 (1.5" diameter) tubes with magnetic ballasts.

Install Energy Star exit signs. These long-lasting exit signs can reduce lamp replacement and can save up to ten dollars per sign annually in electricity costs while saving up to 500 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.

Purchase Energy Star qualified products for your business. You'll have the most efficient computers, printers, copiers, thermostats, ceiling fans, refrigerators, televisions, windows, and other equipment and appliances.

WATER

Fix water leaks. Even small leaks add up to many gallons of water wasted each month.

Use water-saving faucets, showerheads, toilets, and urinals.

Install an insulation blanket on water heaters, and insulate at least the first three feet of the hot water "out" pipe.

If buying a new water heater, consider a "tankless" water heater to reduce standby costs and waste.

Set water temperature according to your local board of health code-usually between 110 and 120 degrees.

Landscape using plants native to your region that require minimal watering and possess better pest resistance. If local code allows, consider diverting gray water for watering.

HVAC

Maintain your HVAC system with an annual maintenance contract. Your system may last years longer and use less energy when properly serviced.

Regularly change or clean HVAC filters during peak cooling or heating season.

Control the amount of direct sun passing through windows according to the season and local climate. During cooling season, block direct heat gain from the sun shining through glass on the south side of the facility. Solar screens, solar films, and even old-fashioned awnings and vegetation can help. During heating season, these same south-facing windows can contribute solar heat gain during the day.

Install an Energy Star qualified programmable thermostat to automate your HVAC system. A programmable thermostat can optimize HVAC operation based on your schedule, and can be overridden for unscheduled events.

Use fans. Moving air can help delay or reduce the need for air conditioning, and a temperature setting of three to five degrees higher can feel as comfortable with fans. Fans can improve comfort and save energy year round.

Plug leaks with weather stripping and caulking. You don't need air-and heat-escaping through your leaky building.

THE NEXT STEP: GREEN POWER

Green power is electricity produced from renewable resources including solar, wind, low-impact biomass, geothermal, and low-impact hydro. If you want to be proactive about becoming a green facility, check out the Green Power Partnership, a voluntary program offered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Green Power Partnership (http://www.epa.gov/greenpower/) supports the development of green power by offering expert advice, technical support, and resources.

For instance, do you know what fuel is used to generate the electricity used by your business? The EPA does. In just a few minutes you can enter your ZIP code and your power supplier and find out what mix of fuel is used by your supplier: non-hydro renewables, hydro, nuclear, gas, coal, or oil. The answer may surprise you.

Using EPA resources can help your business lower the costs of buying green power, reduce your carbon footprint, and demonstrate community leadership. Buying green power is one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve the environmental performance of your business.

What is Green Power & Why is it So Great?

Green power or green energy is an environmentally friendly way of consuming power and it is a non polluting source of power. You can use solar energy and wind energy and convert it into usable energy or power. There are several ways of doing it.

Green power helps the current problem of global warming by using the available energy instead of creating new form of energy by using the natural resources. However it is considered to be more expensive than the traditional form of energies and that is one of the major reasons that it is not being accepted widely. Mostly green energy is conceived as a source of electricity and heating and generating power for various needs.

The industries that can use this form of energy are businesses, organizations, and consumer industries. They can easily purchase green power for their business needs and also have a huge positive impact in the green earth concept. Whenever a company invests in the such technology they get special certificates and today these certificates are being purchased by several organizations in the United States and Europe. Even individual users in some European countries are investing in green power by large.

So basically it is just an alternative term for renewable energy and it is named so because it environmentally friendly source of energy. The energy is derived from power sources that do not pollute the environment, such as solar power, energy from wind and waves. Water and wind are considered as natural resources in the power industry. Also when this form of energy is used the output and waste after consumption is almost none and therefore they are considered to be safe for the earth. You should go green as soon as possible and start enjoying free power.

Green power allows people to get free electricity and save thousands of dollars on energy bill. One of the ways to do it is to make your own windmill or sometimes also called a wind turbine. To find out how you can do it and get instructions, please click here.

Lower Costs, Energy and Reduce Your Heating Bills

A lot of the times you'll realize you're throwing away money unsuspectingly, for instance, you'll be at home, comfortable, cozy and toasty, opening bills, only to notice your heating bills are astronomical. The perfect time to reduce your heating bills in the winter is actually the summer time because there is a lot of work that needs to be done that may expose you to the weather.

However, winter or no winter, there are still options to cut costs during the frigid season.

Why pay more money on your heat when you don't have to?

If you feel like your radiators are pumping a little bit too much oil for you to handle or your furnace is blasting at an alarming rate to the point of perspiration, it may be a good time to fix that, and updating your windows and doors may be the solution for you. Your heating systems may be overworked because they're having a hard time keeping the temperature in your apartment or home because your windows and doors may have excessive cracks, causing a draft in your place.

Replacing your doors and windows could be done utilizing a professional contractor or by yourself if you're looking to be cost-effective and have the experience to handle the project.

If you decide to do this during the winter, make sure you know what you're doing so the process doesn't have to take longer than expected, have your loved ones somewhere else while this is going on. Replacing your windows and doors provide more benefits than just reducing your heating bills.

Performance: Replacing your windows/doors will improve the efficiency of them, allowing them to work smoother and it'll also give you a chance to make them a little more accustomed to your style.

Maintenance: The new windows and doors will not need much, if any, work on them. Designs have vastly improved over the years and will only continue to do so.

The Look: Having new windows and doors will improve the overall aesthetics of your home, improving the appeal of the home itself, as well as value to the home.

Don't let the design of the windows/doors distract you from your main goal to save energy and lower your heating bills.
